Hello everyone, greetings to you all. Welcome to our daily meeting, the study of the daily Ritat. Today is the 15th day of the month of Marheshvan, 5784. It is Yom Sheni, Monday of the Parashat Vayera.
A special dedication today to ask Hashem to send their soulmate to all those who are not yet married, may it be very soon. Say Amen, Amen, wherever you are. Today is the 15th day of the month of Marheshvan. Marheshvan.
The 15th day of each month is special because the moon is full. The Jewish calendar is based on the moon. At the beginning of the month, we only start to see a thin sliver of the moon, and by the middle of the month, the entire moon is visible and shines with full fire. The People of Israel are also compared to the moon.
Just as the moon shines sometimes more and sometimes less. There are times when the greatness of the People of Israel is more or less apparent in the world, and one of the times when the Jews were like a radiant full moon was under the reign of King Solomon. At that time, the People of Israel resided in the Land of Israel with their own kings. They were filled with both material and spiritual wealth.
And everyone could see how great and powerful they were. This will happen again, and in an even more splendid way, when Mashiach comes. Very soon, everyone will be able to see how precious the People of Israel are in the eyes of Hashem. This is even more true in the month of Marheshvan; Hashem promises that the inauguration of the Third Temple will take place during this month.
This day therefore offers us extra encouragement to know that Mashiach will be here very soon, thanks to everyone's mitzvot. Remember to send us your dedications via WhatsApp at +33 6 21 37 24 52. In today's chapter, Abraham accompanies his guests, the angels. He learns that Hashem plans to destroy Sodom.
He prays to Hashem to spare them. Sarah, for her part, was afraid of having a child at such an advanced age, and so she laughed. The angel who had conveyed this news to Sarah had completed his mission and left. The two other angels turned towards Sodom, where they had another task to accomplish: destroying the cities and delivering Lot.
Hashem wanted to destroy those cities because the inhabitants were committing many unworthy acts. They had even made it illegal to perform good deeds for others, such as the prohibition of giving charity or practicing hospitality. Abraham's guests were ready to hit the road, and he went out with them to accompany them for a part of the way. As we know, the mitzvah is to always accompany guests when they leave the home.
The Holy One, blessed be He, warns Abraham our forefather of His intention to destroy Sodom. And since these cities were part of the Land of Israel that would later belong to Abraham, He explained to Abraham that the inhabitants were wicked and that He had to prevent them from committing further evil against men. Abraham, for his part, prayed to the Holy One not to let everyone in Sodom perish. Perhaps the Holy One could find virtuous men and, through their merit, spare all the cities.
And he proposed: if there are 10 righteous men, will You save that city? But there were not 10 virtuous men in each city. Abraham tried another approach. What if Hashem joined as the 10th for each city?
But Hashem replied that there were not even nine virtuous men in each city; Abraham prayed again. What if certain cities counted 10 virtuous men, would You save those cities? Yes, Hashem replied, but there was no city with 10 virtuous men. Abraham reiterated this prayer several times, but there were not even nine righteous people in any of those cities .
Abraham knew that the eight virtuous people of Noah's time had not been enough to save humanity. He therefore ceased imploring the Holy One to spare them. And there, Hashem stopped speaking to Abraham, and Abraham returned to his home. And we move right on to the Tehillim of the day.
We are on the 15th of the month and we read from 77 to 78, that is to say, the Ayin Zayin and the Ayin Chet. Chapter 78 reviews all the miracles that Hashem accomplished for the people of Israel since the exodus from Egypt. Up until the rise of King David as king over Israel, and in the verses of this chapter and the next, King David asks the Holy One to wake up. What does that mean?
Does the Holy One sleep? The Rebbe explains, moreover, in the Bar Mitzvah Maamar, we talk about it, that during the exile, the vitality felt by the world is similar to the vitality experienced by a sleeping person. When a person sleeps, their soul rises to heaven and the person can only dream without being able to think rationally. The world does not feel the greater part of Hashem's vitality.
It only perceives a tiny fraction, just enough to make a man dream. We therefore ask the Holy One, blessed be He, to awaken so that everyone can see and feel God's vitality in the world like an awake person. We want Hashem's vitality to be revealed brilliantly when we study the Torah and perform the mitzvot. We make this reality concrete and we bring the deliverance closer.
will send us mam explains the terms of the Zohar after the physical departure, he is present in all worlds even more than during his lifetime; the Rebbe Shneur Zalman raised a difficulty here regarding this passage. We easily understand that the Tzadik is more present in the spiritual world. We also understand that the merit and the berachot, the blessings of the Tzadik, remain here below in this material world. But how can one claim that the very life of the Tzadik, which we do not see in a material way, is more present in this material world than before?
Did the Tzadik not leave the material world? To grasp this, the Rebbe Shneur Zalman revealed to us yesterday what the life of a Tzadik is and how it differs from that of an ordinary man. Indeed, the entire life of a Tzadik resides in his soul, in his neshamah, in his emunah, in his love and his fear. The body is only a vessel allowing him to radiate in this world.
And the Rebbe Shneur Zalman continues. When a Tzadik is materially alive in this world, the Chassid connects to him by listening to the Rebbe's teachings on how to act and by striving to understand what the Tzadik wants. But the soul of the Tzadik can only reside in one place: in the body of the Tzadik . And the Chassidim only receive the revelation of the soul of the Tzadik through his holy body, by observing him , by listening to him.
After the histalkus of the Tzadik, after the physical departure of the Tzadik, each of the Chassidim receives within themselves a spark of the very neshamah of the Tzadik. Thus, we can feel a reflection of the emunah, a reflection of the love of Hashem, of the fear of the Tzadik. And the Tzadik thus lives inside us. How?
By studying his Torah, by fulfilling all his directives. However, Rebbe Shneur Zalman reminds us that there is a condition required to be able to live with a spark of the Tzadik's soul within oneself. This is what is mentioned in one of the 12 psukim that we know well, the 12 pesukim. It is yegiatam.
Meaning that we must make great efforts to connect ourselves to the qualities of the Tzadik. We learn to do this by following what he taught. A Tzadik is therefore even more alive when he leaves this physical world than when he lived here materially, thanks to his Chassidim and all those who follow his teachings. Hayom Yom 15 Cheshvan.
Up there in heaven, souls await their turn to come into the world. Why are they so impatient to be born? Because they know everything that a soul can accomplish in this world. Now that our souls are truly present in this world, this moment they wished for with such enthusiasm, the time has come to act.
We must therefore act. What are we waiting for to do everything our neshama wishes to accomplish? Yes, this is what the neshama was waiting for when it was in heaven. So, let us trust it.
Rambam daily. In today's program, we continue the study of the laws of buying and selling. Chapter 10. Here, we learn what happens when a person is forced to sell an asset, whether under verbal threat from an individual or because they were told the property would be stolen otherwise.
Well, the transaction is not considered a valid sale according to the Torah. In many cases, in chapter 11, the Rambam gives us the rules that govern conditional sales. In chapter 12, finally, we address the laws relating to the commandment of the day. Namely, not to wrong others, which is called ona'ah in business.
A price is considered fraudulent if the rate is more or less than one-sixth of its true value. If the difference is less than that, it is not considered deception because most people do not mind, may it be that we can always have commercial exchanges in the greatest holiness, purity, and serenity. That was the daily Hayom Yom. I invite you to share it with as many people as possible.
Be blessed infinitely. We studied the Mitzvah. May He bless Israel, protect Israel, and send us [redemption]. May God bless you .
