Today Much joy and many moral lessons to learn from all the events happening around us, but especially in the parashah. As you know well, Lot lived in Sodom, which is to be destroyed in the parashah, even though Abraham tried to save it, but they committed actions that even today, when we want to describe the worst things, we say it's Sodom and Gomorrah. So, we won't talk about what the people of Sodom did. We will just focus on a detail that is very important for us.

When the angels came to Lot, he received them well, and they all came to break down the doors because there was no respect for guests there. What did Lot say to them? Please , do not touch my guests if you will. Here, I have my daughters, I will give you my daughters.

Oh my, the Ramban, Nahmanides, says what kind of morality is this, that now because you have guests, your daughters count for nothing at all? You are ready to give your daughters to respect the guests properly. But there is a very important order in life. And this is the message of today that concerns every family, and especially also in the land of Israel.

On page 76, I believe, it says there, in the [text] it is written: “ If you want to lend money or borrow money, if you want to help someone,” and it is 251, “first your family, then your entourage, your community, then your city, then your country,” and from there we learn: or “Israel before other countries.” Your family, if someone is there, ready to help all the children, he goes to feed all the children in Gaza because the poor people need it. That’s fine, but first go feed all the children of your own country. Take care of everything around you. See that they all have something to eat, and then go take care of others.

There are those who take care of animals, cats, dogs. It’s beautiful, it’s cute, but there is a priority in life. First, the family around you must have everything they need. Even for all of us, we like to help, to go out, to help people, but we must not forget our own family, too.

Someone is capable of helping everyone but abandons his wife, his children; he is never there. These are all poor calculations. Lot teaches us this in the parashah. That is what Sodom and Gomorrah is, it's turning upside down everything that should be a priority in life.

So, God asks us in this week's Parsha, gentlemen, a very, very important message. What is the priority in our lives today? Whose Torah is it today? Rabbi as well, but there is also in the Hasidism of Breslov, Saba Israel , and it was always joy.

God asks that the priority be joy. There are some who try to bring joy to everyone, but inside themselves, there is no joy. So the Torah tells you, first work on your own joy around you, after you are joyful. Ah, automatically it will shine towards others.

Otherwise, it's just a comedy. Comedy, it's not, it's not the true joy from within, eh. It's just to have a good time, to laugh, to forget your worries a little bit. As soon as the show is over, the worries return.

So there you go, we will try to work, we will understand the message that unfortunately the other did not understand. He said, "No, here, take my daughters, I will take care of the guests." First, take care of your family, your community, your neighborhood, your country, yourself. And after everything is lit the way it should be, there is enough light to illuminate all the rest. Have an excellent day, Rabina.
