Let me just tell you a quick story to show you how sometimes just existing is what influences others, like with Rabbi Moshe Feinstein. Alright? Let me just tell you a quick story to show you how sometimes just existing is what influences others, like with Rabbi Moshe Feinstein. One day, a young man came to see him and said, "Look, I've strengthened my faith and I'd really like my parents to let me go to yeshiva." But in his family, that’s not something common. So obviously, they had a lot of opposition , which we can totally understand.
It’s legitimate, so the young man says to Rabbi Moshe Feinstein, "I would like you to talk to my parents to convince them." Rabbi Moshe Feinstein says, "No problem, come to my house tomorrow at such and such a time, you'll be welcome with your parents." They arrive at the Rabbi’s house the next day and they chat about this and that. And at the end, they leave and on the stairs, the son realizes and says, "Oh no, we didn't even talk about it," but his parents look at
him and say, " It's fine, we’ll let you go." Just seeing the Rabbi, exchanging a few words with him, seeing his intelligence , his finesse, the way he views the world, they didn't need to hear anything more than that. It means that simply existing is sometimes the best influence we can have on the world.
