Rabbi Shaya stopped coming to the yeshiva 3 or 4 years ago, stopped looking after the yeshiva. 4 years, that is. Before, he gave a class in the morning, he stayed all day, then in the evening he gave the class from 6:15 to 7:00, the big yeshiva class, the big online class. It was that 6:15 to 7:00 class that he did, he did it for 15 years.

That was the class that tore it up, and he stopped coming 3 or 4 years ago, and we reproached him, we told him you have to come back. Why? Because there is one thing we don't know how to do, that you knew how to do and still do, and that's his straight talk. He spoke his mind and didn't beat around the bush to motivate people to do things.
Like, for example, Shmirat HaEinayim, he was very, very careful with his eyes his whole life, he was really very, very careful. He wasn't ashamed to invest himself and push people to practice Shmirat HaEinayim. And what was very interesting is that when he talked to you, he pushed you to do it, you couldn't say no, you'd get into it. When he pushed people to keep Shabbat, people would keep Shabbat.
He had another Neshama like that. His power to motivate people to do things was incredible in seminars; he would make people do Teshuvah by saying, "Do Teshuvah, man, do Teshuvah," and the guy would do Teshuvah, "OK, fine." And that's what is noted here, really, the pain of the Shechinah, he really felt it when he spoke. He was truly pained, he really wanted to do good for Israel, and that's why his straight talk worked so well. We tried to imitate him, we tried to do it the way he did, but it didn't work.
There was a truth in him that was very, very strong, and it was especially in his approach that he was able to adapt so well to the people he was talking to. When he spoke to people who grew up in the projects or whatever , it was very funny, but sometimes intellectuals would come, and he had a language that was very elevated, very powerful, very deep, and he is a very intelligent man. And as we said to the SP, he's a man who could have made
a lot of money, he could have done many, many things; he chose to take all the talents Hashem gave him for Israel and, and when we said he reached, you see, tens of thousands of people, that's not exaggerating at all, not exaggerating. We saw the emails, hundreds of thousands, emails, emails, emails.
We saw the number of views, it was by the thousands, by the thousands, by the thousands of views, it climbed into the millions. It was incredible. People were doing teshuva because of it. It was, it was incredible.
And in every country in the world, we saw incredible things. He is a very, very great person . And that's it.
