So, here we are, it's the 11th of Heshvan, the beginning of the Rachel Imeinu segulah. I hope you are ready. So, what is the principle of this segulah? You’ve surely heard about it for 40 days. There is a lot of enthusiasm , and many women are finding strength through this segulah. But I would like to warn you about two things.

So, here we are, it's the 11th of Heshvan, the beginning of the Rachel Imeinu segulah. I hope you are ready. So, what is the principle of this segulah? You’ve surely heard about it for 40 days.

What do we do? Well, three things. The first is to put a coin in tzedakah. Then, we light a candle and finally, we make a wish through the merit of Rachel Imeinu.

Okay? So, it's wonderful. There is a lot of enthusiasm , and many women are finding strength through this segulah. But I would like to warn you about two things.

The first is the many overly sales-y messages that sell the segulah to you as a guarantee that your wish will be granted. So, we must be careful because we have only one guarantee, and it is called Hashem. It is toward Him that we must turn our hearts and in Him that we must place our trust. Him and only Him.

That is the first thing. The second is not to confuse the essential with the accessory. What is the accessory? It is the segulah.

It’s the icing on the cake. But compared to what essential? The essential is the avodat Hashem. It’s trying to give the best for oneself, for one's loved ones, to create an authentic and sincere bond with Hashem.

Let me tell you a little story. This story is true. A few years ago, a woman called me and said, "Look, Joy, I had a huge fight with my husband , I got angry at him because of this and that, he stopped me from making my challot." I said, "Well, he stopped you from making your challot, but it's okay , you'll make them tomorrow." I mean, besides, clearly, the husband didn't do it on purpose; he arrived late or didn't bring the groceries or I don't know what. She said, "But you don't understand, I was very angry at him for stopping me from making my challot because making challot is a segulah for shalom bayit." I leave you to meditate on that sentence.

She yelled at him anyway because, because of him, she couldn't do the segulah, and I assure you it's a true story. So in conclusion , the trap is believing that we can live our lives taking shortcuts when a candle will never replace. A compliment , a kind word. And finally, acknowledging that while all of this is wonderful, it only enhances what truly matters: creating a sincere bond with Akadou, our loved ones, and ourselves.
