And tonight, ladies, we are going to break down the three levels of Emunah that we vitally need in this world to get through the trials of this world. So, let's define things. The first level of Emunah is this. There is a God , a Creator God, a God who created the world. Do you believe, yes or no? This is the Emunah, the most primary, and it is a binary Emunah. It's either yes or it's no. Besides, in Hebrew, "El," which means God, is Aleph-Lamed, and if you reverse the letters, what do you get? You get "Lo.""Lo," which means no. Do you believe in God? Do you believe He created the world or not? There is no third alternative.

Agreed? So this is the simplest, most basic Emunah. And our sages, especially the masters of Chassidut, tell us that every Jew carries this most basic Emunah within them. It is connected to a part of their soul—for those who are fans of Tania classes—to the Yechida.

And we must understand that intrinsically, a Jew, regardless of their state, regardless of their situation, even a sinner, is tied to this intrinsic point within them, what is called the Magen Avraham. And this point connects directly to the belief that God created the world. Agreed? That's why Rav Taober, in his book called "Mifalei HaShem" in Hebrew, or "From Darkness to Light" in French, it's a must.

I don't think that book is still in print, but it’s an exceptional book. In any case , Rav Taober tells a story he experienced as a child when he was in Poland. He recounts that there was a Jew who had converted, who had become a Christian and had become a mayor, a mayor in Poland, and a mayor who, on top of that, was in league with the Nazis—to tell you how far he had fallen. He had married a non-Jewish woman and was sure that once the Nuremberg Laws extended to all of Europe, he would be immune.

One day, the Nazis catch him and make him enter where? Into a synagogue, and they tell this mayor, they say, just before we grant you immunity, we want you to take out the Sefer Torah and trample on it. And this Polish mayor, what was his reaction? His reaction was: not even in my dreams, I’d rather die.
